(G)I-DLE’s LATATA is the lead single from their 2018 EP I Am. The original version is a Hip-Pop song that takes the group into territory that K-Pop girl groups normally don’t enter.

LATATA in its original form is a relatively simple composition that doesn’t rely on a lot of studio wizardry or gimmicks to push the song along.

For my interpretation, I kept that in mind and only made only a few small arrangement changes. Since the vocal rip I had had minimal artifacts, there were no creative liberties that I had to take to make things work.

The majority of the changes I made were in the feel of the track. The original has a build-up to an exciting dance-oriented climax after the chorus sections. I decided to go in the opposite direction and keep things at a Tranquilo pace rather than go all out as the original does.
